On Tuesday May 12, 2026, the Soroti Catholic Diocese Integrated Development Organization (SOCADIDO) team under Rise Adepar started community hygiene and sanitation promotion activities in Adepar Parish, Acinga Sub County, Kapelebyong District.
The engagements focus on triggering communities to take collective responsibility for improving sanitation and hygiene standards within their homes and villages.
The sessions are designed to awaken people’s initiatives, abilities, and commitment towards establishing and upgrading sanitation facilities such as latrines, handwashing stations, and clean household environments.
Through community discussions and sensitization, residents are encouraged to embrace proper hygiene practices that promote healthy living, dignity, convenience, and mutual respect within society.
According to Mr. Wilbroad Amodoi, the SOCADIDO WASH Coordinator, the triggering sessions create a powerful moment that touches the hearts of many community members and inspires them to take action.
He noted that the exercise helps households realize the importance of putting up proper sanitation facilities, especially in preparation for hosting visitors with dignity and respect.
The Project is being funded by Just A Drop (JAD) and it’s part of the ongoing efforts by SOCADIDO under Rise Adepar to promote sustainable community development through improved Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices.
Area Leaders and residents of Adepar Parish appreciated the program, describing it as timely and transformative in addressing sanitation challenges affecting many rural communities.
